Intro to Prints by dbabetta featuring open toe high heels

Prints don’t have to be all about Wowing. Especially when you are looking for a whimsical way to make it through your workday. During #stylechat recently I asked people what were their current style challenges. Some said how to be patient and wait to wear new SS12 styles until the temp outside was (above freezing) appropriate to have on a tube top or lace dress! While one struck me close to home.  Adela from StyleFile:  The challenge of how to work more prints into your wardrobe. I am NOT a print girl at all. So @adelastylefile this is for you (and me both).  I can appreciate them on others, but don’t love them on myself. I always end up with the staples that can play around my wardrobe nicely. Like basic white blouses, trousers, solids that can carry me from season to season. I want to touch on those girls too, because we all need to know how to wardrobe the basics. While keeping the freshness of each season. So I decided to go out in search of the perfect way to work a print into your wardrobe. My answer is always start slow. Don’t go print crazy and then you will never wear it. Above are some great options for us print challenged girls.

Marc by Marc Jacobs blouse

Marc by Marc Jacobs blouse (see more silk polka dot blouses

This Marc Jacobs print polka dot blouse is a great addition to any closet as it can be dressed up with a suit or skirt, or dressed down with some simple chinos or jeans. Throw on a cardigan and it will take you from winter into the summer! I happen to love pieces that I can get my monies  worth with wearing it every season.

This printed top also has the same versatile flair as the one before. Great for all year and allows for many options.

The Bold and the Beautiful:

Etro pants

I happen to think these pants are super cool. And they look amazingly comfortable, flowing and free! But with a $696 price tag you better love them!

If you are a Bold Babe! Try this lovely Print Dress in Linen and Silk

and accessorize with simple basic scarf, bangles, and great shoes.

Go ahead try prints. Start small where you are comfortable and then go wild if you can! Tribal Prints are in. Leave a comment and tell me what you are trying this season that you normally wouldn’t.
