Master Plan: A Nail Polish and Hip Hop Mashup

Essie Master Plan Nail Polish

Since I am working on nailing down (Pun intended) some great events for my 2013 calendar. I thought this color would be fitting. What I really love is that this Essie polish instantly reminded me of an old hip hop classic Paid in Full. Here is my ode to that and the nail polish.

6 Reasons I would date Jack Spade

If I told you once, I’ve told you twice shopping a men’s store is the best way to find a man you would want to date. Oh, you never heard that? Well I am totally crushing on the well-dressed man lately. I was invited to the super secret opening of the new Jack Spade Chicago store. What? That is what the invite said, I wasn’t supposed to tell anybody, *whispers* sorry! I slipped my number to one of the mannequins. He was in the Jacobs Flannel Blazer and we were in business. Jack Spade has a collaboration with Barbour they have a few key pieces that will pull together the perfect urban explorer.

The grey lightweight sweater, on the bottom left, is perfect for fall and my number 6 reason I would date Jack Spade. At $95 dollars it features a sweater exterior and t-shirt lining. The perfect thing for you and your new boo to cuddle up in on crisp fall nights.

The brown shoes shown on the bottom right are my number 5 reason. Made from a horses ass, no really the leather is made from a horses ass, right here in Chicago at the legendary Horween Leathers. You wear cordovan you are my kind of guy!

Reason 4 is he travel in style. I love this chocolate leather weekender bag so much. I wanted to scoop it up and jet off to a weekend trip after meeting it. Reason 3 is Jack Spade remembers all the details from a pocket square to great socks. Reason 2 is he is always ready to party and with the red Dolan chinos at $175. He could go right from the office to the drinks.

My number 1 Reason I would date Jack Spade is he’s rocking the Barbour Hopper Jacket. He looks like he’s going hunting, but he’s not! He has pulled together the entire look flawlessly and stolen my heart in the process. Thanks Jack, call me maybe…

E.L.F. Gets you Photoshoot Fresh

More days than not I am wearing makeup. I am wearing makeup that, more often than not, I have to wear from early in the morning until late in the evening. Things like eye primer, lip primer, good mascara, and blush will help me go from a full day at the office to after work fashion events. Fall is fashion season, and it will put any beauty regimen to the test. My daughter and I went for a trip to the New City Target in downtown Chicago to close some gaps in my makeup supply.

E.L.F. Cosmetics is a great brand I heard of several years ago for being affordable. E.L.F. stands for Eyes Lips and Face, and trust me there have something for all three! I started by using their lip glosses years back, but have grown to love this best beauty bang for my buck brand. (Say that 10 times fast) I already own some items, and this trip I am really looking for items that can help me transition my look from day to night and one that will help me make it through the day. I was saddened that the selection at the City Target wasn’t bigger. I searched the aisles to find them just on the end cap, but I would make the best of the modest selection. I already had some items coming from the E.L.F. website so I guess I could make do with what was in front of me.

I grabbed a cute blush called Candid Coral. A little compact for day to night looks with both dark and light colors in a neutral palette. An extra contour brush for my eyes, and a nude lipstick, and some false eyelashes for good measure. These items are like my staples. When you find a good color for day into evening you have to stick with what works. These items from E.L.F. did the trick.

As a beauty and fashion blogger I am always running into people at fashion and boutique events. I always want to look my best. I can tell you E.L.F. makeup always keeps me covered. I can add more as the day goes on and refresh my lips and transition from day to night without hesitation.
