Wishlist Wednesday: Sequin Pants

November 21, 2012

I get into style moods. I will obsess about getting a particular item in my closet. This week’s wishlist item is sequin pants. I wanted a pair last holiday season and now the pang for fancy pants is back. So while on the google machine. I found these darling little harem pants in both gold and pewter. I love them. Then I thought well the holidays are upon us and my budget doesn’t have room for these cuties.

So now I am on the search for the Two Broke girls version of these fancy pants. The last two are great options under $100! Now that is more my speed.

Well miss smarty pants would you rock these glittery bottoms? Tell me in the comments below.

From Blogger to Business: Lola Blue, The Closet!

November 19, 2012

[Updated} Small businesses are more and more becoming the lifeblood of America. As a fashion blogger and entrepreneur, I understand the struggle to transition to a new business venture. I enjoy stories of people following their dreams and going after that American Dream with their whole heart! It's right out of the pages of $100 Start up (which I am currently reading). I was “introduced” to Erika Batista a fashion blogger turned e-jewelry store owner. We spoke briefly about her transition into business ownership from full-time employee and passionate blogger. Here, is an excerpt from my interview with this new passion project entrepreneur.

Wishlist Wednesday: Glittery Flats

November 14, 2012

The holidays are coming fast and what to wear while on your feet for hours at the office holiday party or that dinner you were invited too. A great pair of glittery flats will do the trick for the city girl on the go! You can leave the office and go straight to the party without swapping shoes. Or pull these babies out of a tote after swapping shoes like Mr. Rogers.

Gala Girl on a Peasant Budget

November 12, 2012

This weekend I attended a fabulous gala for the Chicago Urban League. A lot of great Chicagoans were in attendance, and there were also so national treasures too. A girlfriend asked me to attend, and shockingly enough I did not have any gowns to wear. I used to be a pageant girl and had a full slew of evening wear at the ready to roll out at moments notice. I realized that the last party dress I had looked more after 9 than after 5. So I was on the hunt to either make something work in my closet or find something on the cheap. My outfit was a grand total of $35.16! Yeah, I know. I added it twice. Here is how you can get my after 5 look for less.
