I can’t make it through fall and winter without tights. I have to keep a full drawer of them. The trend of the moment is bright colors, funky patterns, and even lace to make his heart race. (Yea, I said it, it is the single girl in me) I will wear tights daily and even under slacks on a chilly day in the city. Even my daughter has some sort of obsession with tights. It was a daily battle over the summer to get her NOT to wear tights in the summertime heat. What can I say, she is an old soul. The new line from No nonsense, is also and old soul with a new fresh face. I normally go for higher end brands, but I was pleasantly surprised by what I received. A great criss cross patterned pair courtesy of No Nonsense. I wore the tights the next day. I could not wait to test them out.
No nonsense black tights
I was shocked that they were extremely comfortable, the opacity was great, and they even had a supportive tummy without cutting off my breathing. All these things matter to a girl who wants to look stylish. These are my favorite heels and they are not terribly high. The dress is by Design History, I bought it a couple of years back from Blue Fly. This was a great office outfit, and I will be wearing these cuties for awhile.

But on a dress down casual day, how do I test these No nonsense leggings? Well I will be honest. I am not a leggings fan. I don’t believe they are pants, like many of the college girls I encounter daily. I don’t like the trend of yoga wear as street wear. I tend to be a dressier dresser. My personal style statement even on the weekend is at minimum khakis. This past weekend I decided to give these leggings a whirl.

I paired these purple leggings with a Chambray shirt, Black Ballet flats. For a color, I wore my fleece vest, and jewelry. This came together as a casual outfit for errands and a day with the family!

Now is the perfect time to give No nonsense a second look. They can be found in most major retailer or drugstore to find out to get a pair for yourself use this locator. I enjoy the leggings and will get some casual use from them. I fell in love with the tights. I will be wearing them often! I will  grab a few more pairs to add to my collection.
Here is a easy way to rock a day to night look with just a quick change of your tights. This clever tip will double your wardrobe and we are all trying to get more out of our current closet.

Get InVESTed

November 2, 2012

Dolls it’s officially fall! It is my favorite season. The leaves are changing and so is my wardrobe. Riding boots and tweed skirts are a killer combo, but what about that top layer? The weather may be 30s in the morning on the way to the office, and 60s on the way home. I think a vest is the best idea to handle both temps. I also, dig capes because they provide a layer without the bulk and give a striking silhouette over your clothes. It adds a little mystery to any fall outfit. Now is the time to make a great investment in a vest. Vests are fantastic because they can be dressed up or dressed down. Jeans, skirts, boots, cords, heels, this list could go on. Vest can be a perfect layering piece or as outerwear when the weather is mild enough to permit. I want you to get invested in a fab fall vest. Here are some of my favorites. I have been on the hunt for a great faux fur vest. I have my eye on a few so I hope you can help me decided.

This is a terrific option at $125 from Banana Republic. I love it! Yet, I am still keeping my options open.I may just hold out hope for this baddass vest in the Neiman Marcus + CFDA collection for Target. You read that right. Target’s collection will be featuring big names like Tory Burch, Marc Jacobs, and Oscar de la Renta in Target near you. It will hit stores December 1st and for a whopping bank breaking $79.99 it will be all mine!!! (Bwahahaha)

Master Plan: A Nail Polish and Hip Hop Mashup

October 10, 2012

Essie Master Plan Nail Polish

Since I am working on nailing down (Pun intended) some great events for my 2013 calendar. I thought this color would be fitting. What I really love is that this Essie polish instantly reminded me of an old hip hop classic Paid in Full. Here is my ode to that and the nail polish.

Enjoy,
