Denim can be a big deal. I love denim, but in recent years my denim game had gone bust. After having kids and growing up it can get difficult to find a pair that flatter your misshapen body. There are the jeans with not enough stretch and too much glitter. There are jeans in crazy cuts that only look good in the darkness of an after hours club.

Do you dread casual Friday’s in the office? Do you think all the jeans you have either need a belt because they are too big and loose? Are your kids ashamed to see you in jeans? You shouldn’t, because there is a way to make sure you look great and feel great in what you wear without feeling like you have on Mom Jeans or Jeggings.

They are slimming through the thighs and flattering on a size 20 or a size 2.

I styled my jeans for a recent work retreat with a blazer. We were allowed to wear jeans, but we were asked to dress professional since we could run into other colleagues.

The blazer is from an old suit I don’t wear the pants for by Land’s End. The bright florescent neon yellow shell is from H&M. To dress up the look more I accessorized with a single strand of pearls and modest jewelry. This is an easy weekday look that does not look to stuffy, but still keeps you looking hip and age appropriate. I completed the look with a cute pair of Paxton Oxford Flats from Nordstrom.

So now that we have the weekday covered how can you turn the weekend. I often wear a pretty chillax weekend uniform. I think having a dressing standard on the weekend keeps life in balanced order. I usually wear Chinos, because you don’t want to be caught dressed crazy when you run into someone out running errands for the day. But I have been known to wear jeans.

For the weekend remember that it is shouldn’t be the no holds barred approach like you have for your sleep habits. Use some good judgement here also. How about a brightly colored scarf and ballerina flats in a vibrant color? As the weather gets nicer you can still keep this uniform up, by changing the accessories you can still look as pulled together as you did during the week.
