World Humanitarian Day 2012 –Give

August 18th, 2012

I watched the video of Beyonce speaking about her involvement this year in an amazing movement. I thought about it and sadly just as quickly forgot. So this personal thank you goes to Kimberly Marie. She posted in our facebook group about giving her service away and I thought I could do my part and help someone too. If you haven’t heard about World Humanitarian Day, is celebrated every year on August 19th. It was started to celebrate the life of 22 UN humanitarian workers who were killed in Bagdad, Iraq 9 years ago.

I decided to do my part and assist someone with my knowledge and service. I am giving a free 1 hour social media coaching session. You can ask any questions you might have about social media, social media strategy, blogging, branding, or we can just laugh for an hour! I want to help someone grow. I want to help someone build their business by sharing my knowledge.

Fashion Group International’s Buzz on Beauty and Social Media

August 18th, 2012

FGI Chicago Beauty Buzzes on Social Media

Storified by Terez · Sat, Aug 18 2012 09:50:05

Fashion Group International’s Beauty Buzz discusses the impact of social media on Chicago beauty business. Attendees sipped on great wines and nibbles while panelist discussed the role of SM in their business practices. All declared that the use of social media has been positive for them. There is the occasional wayward tweet or customer service issue, but all in all, the tone was that social drives business. People want to build community with the brands they use. Customers want to feel that they are apart of a movement, or something special. Social Media is the way to keep connected before, during, and after a business interaction with customers. Potential customers can see how responsive and informative you are with your own current clients and can decide to buy just from a social media interaction. I live tweeted some tidbits that you can find below.

Why Your Business Needs to Hangout More!

July 31st, 2012

Well hello there! This post is a departure from my normal fashion and beauty programming to bring you some business strategy information. Recently, I was asked to show off my social media skills for a blogger group I am a member of on Facebook. I love sharing the love and knowledge to help others grow. Bloggers Like Me is an incredible group of women from all over the country (maybe even the world), mostly on Fashion, Food, and Shopping. Three of my favorite topics. We connect on what technology people are using. We share our latest posts, and from time to time just share a quick laugh in a supportive community that understand the ups and downs of being a busy blogger.

I was asked to do a quick how to video on using Google+ Hangouts. I don’t use them often, but I believe they are an incredible tool that will revolutionize the way Bloggers Like Me and the Group will do online connecting. To learn more about Google+ Hangouts, click here: continue…
