I can’t get enough of capes this fall. I want to get everyone I see. I think they are very sophisticated and allow for chunky sweaters to fit easy underneath. Here are some of my personal favorites. Now for the business girl around town. A great Tahari Plaid cape that will work with dresses, suits, and slacks. Pair with some awesome fall knee high boots and a wool fedora and go! The Bow Blouse is back. Pre-Fall 2011 is all about the feminine details. Why not look like a lady? With that being said. I love these amazing blouses for Tory Burch. This cute video illustrates how to wear this cute little ditty. The stylist paired them with jeans in this video, but you can style them with slacks, a pencil skirt, or even a great pair of leggings with a blazer.

If the online private short-sale websites were geographic locations, then the reigning Queen/King of the world would be Gilt Group, locating them as the NYC of the market, while the new and up and coming site, JackThreads, would be LA; east vs. west coast but for shopping. I had not heard of JackThreads.com until DBabetta.com Editor-in-Chief, Terez Baskin, sent me a Gchat message telling me to check out this new site that offers 72 hour flash sales, which made me immediately jumped over to the site for two reasons:

1.) ‘Sale’ is my favorite 4-letter word, right next to ‘free’
2.) I love online shopping

The site is very user friendly and the models that occupy most of the site’s real estate look as if they came from one of Avril Lavinge’s teenage dreams during the beginning of her career. Much like Gilt, you must be a member and invited to this site in order to shop the sales, which just takes an email address and a new password and you’re off and ready to shop through this streetware site.
When looking through the sales my mouthed dropped and I started to imagine my life if I left my notoriously preppy/Ralph Lauren aesthetic and bought a skate board while handing over my credit card to JackThreads…they really do mean SALE! Everything is very inexpensive, which one can’t say about Gilt most of the time, whose prices for some watches will cost you the same as a new Honda.

Not only do their prices make them very attractive, but they do offer quality clothing, in both the fabric and materials used and also the types of brands they represent. One of my favorite West Coast graphic tee designers, Jamie Marx, has a great selection of his highly political and transgressive tees, all of which are 50% off.

One aspect of the site that draws in lots of my friends are the shoes. Unlike most sites were you navigate shoe shopping through clicking the link to the shoe that catches your eye, then praying to God that they have your size as you click on the drop box, JackThreads changes that and has you start your shoe shopping by allowing you to only view your size, thus eliminating the false hopes and online digging.
Though my personal style is not directly linked to the streetware and LA-flare that has made JackThreads so popular, I will be visiting the site on my daily rounds through the online sale-sites. Their mixture of great tees, cool watches, and fun sneakers make them a desirable place for any guy who likes to trade in his dress shoes for a pair of Pony sneakers, and maybe try to learn to ride a skateboard. I know this may not be an Avril Lavigne song, but even Skater Boys need love too.
